Music
Music is a powerful healing tool, it can help you with communication and expression, helps you to explore your thoughts and feelings, improve mood and concentration, and can even help reduce pain, anxiety, fatigue and depression. That said, it is important to be mindful what music we choose. Words are mantras and find their way into our subconscious mind, often we listen and sing along to songs without realising how negative the lyrics are.
Here are a few categories that I find particularly beneficial to work with, I have shared with you my favourite tracks and albums in the link section below so you can begin to explore the magic of music.
Frequency music
Solfeggio frequencies are tones derived from numerology that were used centuries ago. These frequencies are believed to create positive shifts to those in proximity to them. Certain frequencies of sound are used in various therapies in order to engage specific brain wave states to promote healing of the body and mind.
Benefits range from pain and stress relief, organ regeneration, DNA repair, release of fear and guilt, increased awareness and connection to self, through to attracting love, enhanced intuition and connection to the divine
Mantra music
A mantra is a word or phrase you repeat during meditation, the eternal sound vibrations of nature. These vibrations like the OM mantra can be perceived in deep states of meditation. While many sounds can awaken the physical body, emotions and intellect, Mantra music awakens an inner connection to that eternal dimension within us.
Repeating ancient mantras out loud, silently in your mind, or as part of a mala meditation can be a powerful addition to your daily well-being practices. Some of the most powerful mantras are in Sanskrit.
Used as a tool, these sounds or vibrations create a desired effect, they can help release your mind, boost awareness and improve concentration, such as healing, transformation, or self-awareness, to a specific area of your body and/or life.
Shamanic Music
Whereas Mantra Music connects you to your higher consciousness and spiritual realms, shamanic music connects us to the earth, animals and ancestors. In shamanism, the music is used actively by the shaman to modulate movements and changes of state as part of an active journey within the spirit world.
The steady beat of shamanic drumming is a powerful tool for brain health because by the very nature of it's constant rhythm, it permeates the entire brain, bringing both hemispheres into rhythmic balance.
Music forms a powerful resource in shamanic practices, helping to open up the bridge between our conscious and spiritual energies. This creates a stronger influence using such connections to heal physically, emotionally, and mentally. By focusing on the whole self, it helps achieve greater balance in our lives, giving us the strength to make changes where we need to.
